A Behind the Scenes Pass to Gymdo Collection’s Photo Shoot.

The public see the stylish editorial finish of a photo shoot, but what happens behind the scenes is another story. Armed with my Nikon camera and Carpe Diem attitude I joined the shoot’s crew to capture what happens behind a photo shoot. Here’s the scoop!

8:30am – The models arrive at Gymdo Collections show room for hair and make-up. The beauty team who comprise of Poya Lin for make-up and the Miss Bliss Hair stylist team start to beautify the models for their first look. Straight to work, the inspiration was a classic elegant look. Models Mel Kelly and Chloe Spring are looking runway ready.

11:15am – First shoot of the day, Mel Kelly wore an alluring look in top to toe Gymdo Chanel accessories; Classic Chanel bag, Chanel Watch and Chanel belt, all in which are black and gold. The stylist, James and his very appropriate Surname, Styles, dresses Mel in her first look. Leather pencil skirt, cropped black jacket, gold top and Black Stiletos, the look could only be summed up as a modern day Coco Chanel at her after work drinks. Leaning on the bar of the very stylish ‘Stingray’ bar at QT Surfers Paradise, Mel posed whilst distinguished photographer Kristin Viccars snapped away.

12:25pm – Second look, Second shoot. James then dressed the sugary-sweet Chloe. Her look was a feminine every-day outfit paired with Gymdo’s Azure Cream Louis Vuitton Speedy, matching Louis Vuitton brown belt, Louis Vuitton Orange Scarf and Gucci Watch. With the back drop being an abstract orange circular art installation at QT, Chloe’s blood orange skater dress complemented each other perfectly.

1:00pm –
Third look, third shoot. Mel was up again and this time she channelled her inner classic Chanel. With a white A-Line smock dress, pearls Chanel bag and a different Gymdo Chanel watch, Mel’s look was the classic Coco we all know and adore.

2:15pm –
Fourth look, fourth shoot. Chloe is styled by James in a butterscotch brown palette. A brown cross body Chantilly Louis Vuitton Bag, Hermes earings, Hermes Kelly Watch, Hermes Hook Ring with matching Hermes Hook Bracelet and Necklace.

2:45pm –
With the yachts and luxury boats on the left and the Palm-Tree lined Versace Hotel to the right, the whole crew came together to give their all on this grand finale. The models were dressed in contrasting outfits, Mel in a sultry sexy black outfit and Chloe in a classic sweet white outfit.  Mel again with a Chanel bag and Chloe with a Louis Vuitton over the shoulder bag in the monogram print and later a Gucci Bamboo Brown Leather Tote. The photographer, Kristin, mastered the challenge of shooting in an outdoor sunlit environment with the further challenge of the waters reflections, but the result was breath taking. With James Styles’ styling and the rest of the crews help this last shoot was the winner. Stunning yachts, glistening water and the blue sky above this was the money shot.

4:00pm – Finished. After a long and tiresome day of observing Gymdo’s first ever photo shoot, I was amazed at the strong team work and work ethic every single individual brought to the shoot. Every one brought their best and all worked in a harmonious way respecting each other’s input. The fashion photos you see published in magazines and editorials each hold a story, a story of team work, sharing ideas and listening, but most of all fabulous glamorous FUN.
